Wedding season is upon us, or at least that is what I am learning in my current job. I have been working on quite a few save-the-dates, wedding invitations and programs for upcoming spring and summer weddings already this year. With the popularity of Pinterest, brides have easy access to thousands of ideas and are veering away from more traditional invitations. They know what they want when they order, but so far I have found that they are also open to my creative suggestion and expression. For a designer, that is a dream scenario.
Here are a few of my favorite projects from the past couple of months. For all of these, the brides brought in samples of invitations or save-the-dates they liked and let me create my own interpretation of them. The floral invitation at top includes silhouettes of the couple I created from photos the bride brought in.
(These photos are of the proof prints. The finished save-the-date above included a backer layer of slate gray.)
P.S. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by "Chapel of Love" getting stuck in your head as a result of this post. I love the Dixie Cups and just downloaded their "Best of" collection. Check it out here. And I apologize in advance if "Iko, Iko" also gets stuck in your head.

These are gorgeous! I love wedding season :) I got married last August, but I still love to browse the wedding blogs!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I have fun browsing on Pinterest and I get to call it "research"!
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful work! I love the silhouette invite!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The bride liked that one so much that now I'm working on her wedding program with the same design.
